So Cool

What’s cuter than a baby in sunglasses?

All smiles from two kids that were quarrelling only minutes before

Not the funny kind of drunk

Eric was out barbequing Sunday night while the kids were running around the backyard. Our new neighbor stumbled outside, drunk and wild-eyed. One by one he pointed his toy gun towards Eric, Travis, Carly, and the neighbor-boy, and pretended to shoot at them. This is one of two homes within close proximity that hosts loud drunken parties several times a week, waking Eric and I up at four in the morning. They have been unsympathetic to any complaints made against them, so our next step is to contact the authorities, something we have done a few times before. What a disturbing and frightening world we live in.

Two Witnesses

Tyler and Carly each bore beautiful testimonies in sacrament meeting this week. Carly has made the attempt before, but it was Tyler’s first public demonstration. He stood up without any prodding. Eric and I were pleasantly surprised. I am continually astonished by the youth of this generation.

Three-quarters of an eyebrow

…disappeared?

Tonight… Travis took longer than normal in the shower. Was he scrubbing himself extra clean, brushing his pearly-whites for the full three minutes, or shearing off his right eyebrow? I would gladly have swapped (D)-none of the above, with the correct answer (C)… then tomorrow I would be sending a stinky boy to school instead of one with a partial brow.

How the culprit was discovered…

“What happened?” I questioned, the palms of my hands muffling a shrill gasp.
“What are you talking about”, Travis replied, shrugging his shoulders nonchalantly.
Did he think he could fool me?
Of course not, I knew something was amiss- HE ONLY HAD ONE EYEBROW!

Instinctively I knew it was not Colonel Mustard, in the library with a candlestick.
Rather I concluded it was Travis, in the bathroom with a razor.

Repairing the damage…

I thinned out the left side to better match its bald counterpart:

Travis, my handsome little boy, you look adorable no-matter what… BUT PLEASE DON’T EVER DO THAT AGAIN!!!

Help me solve one last mystery… Will it grow back before school pictures next month? Send me a comment- I want to know what you think: Yes, Maybe, or Not A Chance.

Strange pool in Last Chance Bay

Lake Powell’s magnificent sandstone formations jut gallantly from the water, stark and striking. They are in perpetual standoff with the green water lapping gracefully against the shoreline, and the crimson-red and bright-blue sky above. I cannot help but employ an abundance of adjectives to describe so lovely a setting. This awe-inspiring haven encompasses so many of my most cherished memories. There is no better place on earth to relax and have fun. Lake Powell has a way of rejuvenating both body and spirit. Eric and I found this image on Google Earth. From the main channel below it would have been impossible to spot. This strange pool in Last Chance Bay is now on my list of “unique places I hope to visit one day”.

Blissfully nostalgic feelings are aroused within when I imagine this place I love so much. Lake Powell embodies my childhood:
